Affordable residential solar power . Have you been thinking about that lately? If you haven’t, you should and here is why. Affordable solar is now within your reach but there is more.

The huge spikes in energy we’ve seen lately are not about to go away any time soon. We are rapidly reaching a critical mass situation when it comes to trying to meet our energy needs.

The time has come to realize that this planet is taking a beating environmentally. With each passing day pollution continues to increase poisoning our atmosphere. 3rd world countries once only a blip on the radar are quickly developing and oil supplies are rapidly depleted as we use more than we can refine.

These are but a couple of good reasons to consider and now it’s rapidly becoming the time for you to start thinking about your energy independence. Just like each nation needs energy independence so do the folks!

Technology has improved our capability to power our homes with affordable power and now provides various residential solar power kits for your home. Virtually everthing in your house can now be powered with solar energy.

The new technologically advanced solar power kits are extremely easy to install and even easier to maintain. What was once impossible to afford is now coming into reach of nearly any family budget.

What does a solar power kit involve and how does it work? Will it truly benefit me? Technology has taken the mystery out of how these system work and they are less difficult to understand so lets explore those questions just a bit.

Residential solar power kits employ the use of different modules which in turn when put together can power up your entire household. Power is convert by the use of photovoltaic or photoelectric cells.

These cells are squeezed into solar panels and placed as such so that they can take advantage of as much direct sunlight as possible.

These photo cells gather up the suns energy and quickly converts that into electricity which can then be stored in super efficient deep cycle batteries. Power converters can then deliver this electricity as AC or straight DC power to your home.

With the proper number of panels, you can supply your entire house and never pay an electric bill again. In fact, you can even sell that power back to the power company and make a profit!

You can also install solar water heating modules and also what is called a solar furnace but I have addressed those in other articles. Even things in your yard can now be all on solar energy.

There are many new companies out there selling affordable solar power kits that use the latest technology which will now allow you to convert all your residential solar power needs very quickly.

You will see cost savings immediately and the system pays itself back quickly. There are websites detailing plans for these affordable solar power systems if you know where to look. Do yourself a favor and look into this technology now. With the ease of installation and the money you may save you too can spend that money on yourself instead of sending it to the local utility.

Anyone can get into debt. The question is, once you are in debt, how do you get out? Sometimes asking for help is the only solution. With the help of a specialist in credit counseling it may be easier to get out of debt than you may have though. Often free, these service providers can help you with a pay-off plan without adding more debt.

Counseling services offer a variety of ways to assist you. Advice and guidance counselors will evaluate your present needs and appraise your outstanding debt situation.

With this information in hand, the counselor will work out a plan to manage your debt. The particulars of the plan will depend on the data you have provided. The result is a creative and easy way for you to put the plan into action.

Beyond simply creating a plan for you, some counseling services will communicate with your creditors to negotiate a better agreement for you. Anything is possible from lower interest rates to discounts on the amount you owe.

When all is said and done, a payment program will be set up for you and you will be on your way to paying off your debt with renewed confidence. You pay the agency each month and in turn, the agency will pay your creditors.

This type of service is helpful if you find it difficult to follow a debt repayment plan without specific guidance, or if you don’t have the willpower to make the payments every month rather than running up even more credit debt.

Monthly budgeting is another service that is often available. When over spending is a problem or keeping track of what you spend is a dilemma, credit counseling services can be of great help.

Research your company when choosing a credit counseling service. Avoid scams that may charge you bogus fees or may not distribute the money you pay them. Get references and check out the business before trusting them with your business.

Many people think price is the major deciding factor when determining whether or not a broadband connection would be an ideal match for their Internet surfing needs. This could not be further from the truth.

Of the many factors that weigh into your decision about choosing an internet service provider, the very first should be an evaluation of your location. This is vital because you can only order service if it exist in your geographic location. It would make no sense at all to research the prices of broadband service when there is no broadband cable or access points near your home. The good news is that if you live in any semi civilized area, you’ll easily have access to a number of quality service providers however many outlying communities may not be so lucky.

Once you have passed the availability test, the next comes from a careful evaluation of the many programs to select from. The simple starting point here is to decide if you are looking for a connection for you and your family to use or if you want service for a business. As an example, companies like Verzion and Verzon also offer to their customers, telephone and cable television services. In addition, some packages allow you to save when you order all three services. Companies like Verzion have plans for basic internet service also.

There are different payment plans, too. Pretty much across the board, broadband providers offer you savings in the long run if you pay in advance for six months or a full year instead of paying month by month. They do this because they aren’t risking losing your business as much as they are with a month-to-month plan, and they aren’t risking your defaulting on payments. The down side to paying in advance is that you have to have all the cash up front and you may get locked into a contract that you cannot get out of without a payment penalty.

On a positive note, the fact that web browsing with the old school dial-up connections are so outdated, just about all the major service providers have kept up with the latest trends in fiber optics and satellite technology. Today, not only can your computer reach speeds equivalent to 100 m.ph. on the highway, but so can your cell phone. The web surfer’s new mantra is now, long live broadband.

But keep in mind that you have to have a fairly modern computer (nothing older than about three years) and an operating system no older than Windows 98 or OS X or 10.3 or higher to be able to get broadband service at all; and you will have to be able to afford a higher monthly payment than you need with dial-up.

Being a parent has to be one of the hardest jobs in the world. When we were children it all looked so easy, and we constantly criticised our own parents for making disastrous mistakes, all of which we swore we’d never make if and when we ever got to be parents ourselves. So here we are, making whole reams of mistakes of our own, and finding that whatever we think is the right thing to do, our children, or our children’s friends have other ideas. We look at other parents, who seem to manage fine, and then we look at our own mess and wonder what went wrong. Being a parent is very much like being up a creek without a paddle, and the boat’s leaking. Each day seems another battle has to be won.

Of course, today the world in which our children are growing up is a very different one to our own childhood experiences. With computer technology and the rapid development and integration of the internet into daily life, our children are placed in situations far removed from anything we could have imagined. With friends on the other side of the planet that they have never met, but know intimate secrets about, and evenings spent in front of their monitor, in rapt attention, attempting to rescue the Lost Artefact from the Tomb of Al’Kqaar, or chatting away to the other members of their guild in order to bring down the mighty Fargore, we as parents can only sit back and wonder. And don’t worry - you’re not the only parent to scratch their head and wonder what it’s all about.

Parents aren’t idiots - we’re most of us quite capable of working a computer, typing up a letter, creating a graph and sending off some emails, but computers seem to have a whole other world built in to them that leaves many of our generation reeling at the prospect. For those of us who shred our telephone and gas bills before binning them, and always ask to see the identity card of the man standing at our doorstep wanting to read our meter, the idea of happily posting your most intimate details on a worldwide system for the entire world to see and do what they like with is awful. Whilst having friends all over the world sounds appealing, having friends we have never met and are never likely to challenges our understanding of what friends are. Just because you hang out in Doom Forest killing dwarves from the opposite faction each evening doesn’t, in our traditional book, constitute a friendship.

Then of course there are our worries and concerns regarding the dubious people online that are simply there to lure our children to some dark alley and do what they will with them. We hear the statistics and see the news stories of yet another child who met up with some stranger from the internet and was never seen again, and it’s easy to be tempted to unplug the computer and throw it on the bonfire as though tainted in some evil way.

Most of us realise, however, that it isn’t the computers which are evil, and the vast majority of people on the internet are perfectly decent individuals. Yes, it’s true that there are risks associated with using the internet, but then there are dangers associated with almost everything in life. We could go down to the shopping mall and be blown up by terrorists, or we could take a plane on our next holiday and die in a horrendous crash, or we be knocked down and trampled by a donkey. Every day we take risks, and yet most of us seem to survive them. Clearly this is because we take calculated risks, and use common sense to judge the dangers, and act accordingly. Clearly getting in to a plane held together by sticky tape would be absurd, and crossing the road blindfolded would also be liable to come with far greater risk. Similarly, using the internet is only a danger if you either have no idea what the risks are, or simply ignore them and effectively cross the road blindfold every time you log on, or allow your children to.

What are the dangers or risks involved in using the internet, or computers, and exactly what can we as parents do to try to ensure that our children can enjoy using this amazing resource, whilst at the same time staying as safe as possible? The key to safety is understanding - whatever it is you’re doing. Whether it’s driving on the motorway, parachuting or flying to the moon, the more you understand the risks, the less risk you’ll be taking. By understanding what it is that your children are doing, and knowing what they mean by avatars, profiles, chat rooms, messenger programs and online games, you will be able to share your child’s experiences much more, and help them to use the internet more safely. The more we can work with our children to encourage them to use the technology in a positive way, but understanding the dangers and risks, the more chance we have of helping to ensure their safety, enabling them to decide themselves on the level of risk.

We are familiar with teaching our children about the dangers of the streets, and they are well aware of the risks associated with strangers. They know not to open the door to strangers, not to talk to strangers, not to accept lifts from strangers, and to simply run away and report anything suspicious. But on the internet, strangers can have names, faces, profiles, histories, and the advantage of distance. The problem is, of course, that our children don’t see a stranger, when they are looking at a profile of someone they’re enjoying chatting to. The fact that the photo of a child their own age, with a name, a school, hobbies and family, could all be fictitious is ignored. It is so easy for people to hide behind fake profiles, and thereby lull children into revealing just enough information to identify them.

A cursory look through the internet, or the shelves of your local computer retailer, you’ll see hundreds of so-called solutions. These typically lock down your computer, creating barriers and firewall, monitoring the use of the computer, logging and recording everything that takes place, and generally creating a regime of fear on the computer. But since this only generates either resentment, or curiosity within our children, the best solution really is to communicate with them. We taught them about the dangers of strangers, crossing the road, and real life - why not extend those skills to the virtual world? By having the computer somewhere visible, rather than hidden away in their bedroom, you will have a chance to see what they’re doing, talk to them about it, ask questions, and help to inform them so that they can make the decisions about the risks they take themselves. We can’t lock our children away in a safe room somewhere - but we can help to arm them with the tools they need to stay safe in the 21st century.

A poorly named child can be traumatized for their entire lives. A wrong name, like in the song by Johnny Cash, A Boy Named Sue can be dreadful. Sue was given the girl’s name to toughen him up by an absentee father.

Would Sue have made the same choice if he had the opportunity? Possibly but most probably not. I have on occassion thought that a child should be able to pick his or her own name regardless. Can you imagine sleeping baby Kid Rock or would napping baby Scary Spice?

When my son was born I was accosted by administrative type right when my wife was leaving the labor room. I had forgotten what we wanted to name him and I was in a fright. My wife was still on goofy juice. She thought that he would have to make his way through life nameless.

Some parents have gone crazy naming their children names so unique that they make no sense at all, except to them. They claim that the googleability of their child’s name may become VERY relevant when they being job hunting. Do ya think that this is a little obsessive? Dah!

A traditional name is always a safe bet. A bizarre name will cause lots of trouble especially for a young adult. Frank Zappa named two of his children Dweezil and Moon Unit. Maybe celebrity children can get by with weird names.

A name should also be simple or simply put simple for people to say and spell. It is efficient if not practical to use a J for a soft J sound not a G. We often take jabs at the English language because of bizarre spellings - this time you get to choose. Choose Wisely.

If you have a large closely knit family naming your child will surely upset someone. Maybe Great Aunt Pooky was hoping before she died you would find it in your hearts to name your napping baby after her. Be sure to do what you want. Don’t cave to the pressures family can bring upon you.

Honestly, just name the baby girl or boy something that you think works. It must work for you and work for the child too! Can you see yourself calling from the downstairs — Optimus Prime get down here and take the trash out. Ultimately it should be a name that helps you and your baby sleep all through the night.

Drive and enthusiasm is mandatory to start your own online business… but you also need to know what you’re doing… All the excitement you feel can make you want to jump in headfirst without testing the water.

Don’t jump!

Take a breath and look where you’re going… you’ll get there a lot faster.

Before you pay a web designer thousands of dollars… or create a product nobody wants… or waste any time and money on complicated software you don’t need… let’s start with the fundamentals.

1. Starting an Internet business means BUILDING it from the ground up and that takes some elbow grease

When you put in the effort, you can earn more money, have more free time, and spend your days doing something you love (and getting paid for it!).

However, don’t let your positive attitude get you roped into a business that has no chance of success, and don’t think you can just put up an “instant” website that someone sells you and instantly make a fortune.

There’s no free ride.

But if you’re willing to learn and you know where to look for information, you’re already ahead of the crowd.

The truth is, there are more Internet business opportunities out there than any one person could possibly find, and some of them are perfect for YOU! You’ve got to be the one to find them!

2. Your online business only needs to give the people what they want

I’ll let you in on the number one secret of Internet business: know what your customers want BEFORE you build your website.

This one simple tip will save you more time and money than any other piece of advice I can give you.

Search engines have made it possible for almost anyone, anywhere, to find what they’re looking for online… if it’s there.

Before you commit yourself to a specific product or service, find out if people are looking for - and not finding - it. If people are searching for left-handed bowling balls, then give them left-handed bowling balls. But DON’T just open “Lefty’s Bowling Site” without making sure there’s a market!

Your goal is to find your own underserved niche market and become their go-to guy before someone else does. And when you do that, you’ve got yourself a real business opportunity!

3. Do it right the first time — with expert help

Experience is the best teacher, and that’s the way I learned. IMC is built on the idea of trying something, learning from mistakes, and doing things better after every failure.

Butt you probably don’t have the time to try, try again… and failure is expensive! That’s why so much of what I do is trying to get people to learn from my mistakes instead of making your own.

Its absolutely essential to arm yourself with information and knowledge. You can read articles and blogs, join a discussion forum where experts share information, or get your hands on online marketing courses, videos, and guides that teach you what you need to know.

You’re going to need to know the basics of website building, writing salescopy, and search engine optimization. Without a structured plan and a little help, that could take a while.

The good news: if you’re willing to learn, you can find teaching tools and resources in every shape, size, and learning style. Whether you want everything you need in a book so you can learn at your own pace, or you’d prefer having a mentor looking over your shoulder every step of the way, it’s up to you to choose the method that suits you best.

It can be a fun and rewarding experience. And when those rewards are sales, you’ll be laughing all the way to the bank!
