A gambling pro won’t let on, but I will - a gambling pro will never gamble. They play percentages, which requires study of both the horse’s past - and the race’s past. You won’t catch a pro picking a horse because the name resembles that of his favourite cat!
Horse racing has been sullied by a number of scandals lately - most notorious was that of Keiron Fallon, whose attempt to throw a race was a disgrace of the highest order. But we see a lot of that with the lower-class races, where winnings can be as low as a few hundred pounds. Personally, I never bet on these races, where absolutely anything can happen, from maidens to sellers.
I try to stick to just two races - but I arm myself with plenty of statistics and information about the shortlisted horses. So how do I get my shortlist?
The Grand National at Aintree very rarely has the big names that Cheltenham throws up, but it has the history - and boy do we need history. I love this race - the atmosphere, the thrills and the spills - and the winnings. Ah yes, you can make money on the Grand National. In February or March, you’ll find the first list of runners and riders, with weights. I use this list for the ante-post betting - I always have a shortlist. Here’s how I find my horse:
1. I look for horses between 9 and 11 - preferably 9 or 10. 2. I forget about horses with more than 11 stone on their backs. 3. I eliminate any horses that have not run at Aintree before - and favour any horse that has won at Aintree - at this distance, preferably.
Now, this might not work every time, but I’m playing percentages - I know that in 8 out of 10 cases, I will find a winner this way. Hedgehunter is a notable exception to this rule, but that was an exceptional horse - so you will need perhaps to look just over 11 stone. But the Grand National is NOT a lottery, as many people say it is. Do not pick with a pin - and do not go for the name! Go with this method and you’ll have a shortlist of five or six horses to work from at most.
The other race I favour is the Prix de l’Arc at Longchamp. France’s most prestigious race is also its most consistent - and I do believe that last year’s winner Dylan Thomas was an exception to the rule. Here’s how I find my winners:
1. I look for a French-trained horse. 2. I look for the winner of the Prix Niel, a month before the Arc. 3. I look for a lightly run horse, preferably with five or six runs under its belt. 4. I look for a horse that has run - and won - at Longchamp before. 5. I eliminate Derby winners.
Now the Arc is a peculiar race for many reasons. Many trainers take a horse there after a long season and think that they can win simply on form - but this really is a late race and many horses are best at the start or in the middle of the season. Hence the “lightly run” factor. Derby winners come early in the season and very rarely adapt to Longchamp.
Longchamp is also very peculiar - so it takes a good horse to tackle that long, long straight - after such a huge curve. If you use this method, you will end up with one or two horses at most - and perhaps one or two outsiders that you like the look of over the age of three. As i said, this is a game of percentages, so always look at the history of the race as well as the history of each horse.
So by studying the past and projecting it into the future, you know that you can play percentages and start winning some serious money. Not every time - but most times. And then you’ll be gambling like a pro!

Many times we buy plants on impulse then find there is nowhere in the garden that really suits them. Before buying plants carefully examine your garden to see how much sun and shade it gets, whether the soil is well drained or waterlogged and whether your aspect is sheltered or windswept. You’ll then be equipped to go and buy the best plants for your situation; shade-loving plants for the sheltered areas, sun-lovers for the warm spots, drought-resistant plants for the parched areas which may be either sunny or shaded, and swamp plants for the poorly-drained parts.
But wait! Test your soil first, to determine the pH level of your soil and what kind of nutrients you need to add, if any. Is the soil acid or alkaline? Most plants prefer soil that is slightly acidic, but there are some that must have alkaline soil to grow. You can alter the soil’s pH level, but it’s much easier to simply plant for the soil you have.
Now you are ready to plant. Well - almost. Will you plant in groups or singly? If you buy ‘one of everything’ your garden may seem rather spotty. Group plantings are organized, harmonious and you can vary the color for interest.
Place your plants in their pots around the prospective areas you plan to plant. It helps to give you a visual of spacing and where they are going before they are planted. Avoid planting close to trees as the competition for water and nutrients are fierce. Tall plants should go towards the back or center of the garden while shorter plants up front. Grouping in sets of 3 or 5 tends to look better than even numbers. Keep an eye out for color combinations and textures to add interest as well.
Timing of blooms is another important consideration. You don’t want them all to bloom in one or two weeks and have nothing else the rest of the year. Try to find plants to bloom in early spring, summer and fall, or have very interesting foliage to help have interest during those lagging times.
The right colors is another way to get harmony and balance in your garden. Consider the color of the flowers when they are in bloom. Some colors may clash with others, but can still be planted near by if they have a different blooming season. Leaf color is also something to keep in mind. Many plants have silver, grey or purple foliage that is just as desirable if not more so as the flower itself.

College is the first taste of the real world that young people get while still being protected by something that looks out for them. Most young people move away to college and even though they are still being funded by mom and dad they are given the feeling of what it is like, for the first time, to not answer to someone for everything they do. That first feeling of independence is great but also very intimidating.
As college students begin to make their own decisions about money, they are frequently presented with credit card applications. This is because credit card companies make a special effort to get college students without jobs to open accounts. Parents, though, can help their children at college to stay out of credit card debt by making sure their children understand the disastrous consequences they will experience later in life if they allow themselves to get buried in debt at a young age.
The first angle to control college students and credit card debt is education. Talk with your student and explain how the mixture of college students and credit card debt can get out of control but most importantly explain to them what happens when you ruin your credit at a very young age.
It can follow you for years and can even affect your ability to get your first real apartment or buy your first home. That relationship between college students and credit card debt can get so out of hand that they could be paying for it into their 30’s and if they understand that then maybe you can help them avoid it.
Offering Your Assistance
A college student always needs access to funds and one way you can help offset the temptation of college students and credit card debt is to give your college student a credit card with a limit you can handle and tell them this is all the credit card they need.
If you choose to give your college aged children a credit card where you set the limit, you need to make sure that there will always be fund available to them on it. Doing this will also help you to know what they are using their credit card to pay for when you receive the statement each month.
Ultimately, your college students need to start making their own decisions, so all your advice and help can only go so far. Feel confident as a parent by doing all you can to help your kids make the right decisions about credit card debt.

Boomers Bank In investment finance, private equity real estate is an asset class consisting of equity and debt investments in property. Investments typically involve an active management strategy ranging from moderate reposition or releasing of properties to development or extensive redevelopment. Investments are typically made via private equity real estate fund, a collective investment scheme, which pools capital from investors. These funds typically have ten-year life span consisting of a 2-3 year investment period during which properties are acquired and a holding period during which active asset management will be carried out and the properties will be sold.
History and evolution There is a long history of institutional investment in real estate both through direct ownership of property and through pooled investment funds. Initially institutional real estate investments were in core real estate, however, market conditions in the early 1990s led to the emergence of opportunistic funds which aimed to take advantage of falling property prices to acquire assets at significant discounts.[1] Private equity real estate emerged as an independent asset class in the beginning of the 21st century and has experienced huge growth in recent years. Strategies Private equity real estate funds generally follow core-plus, value added, or opportunistic strategies when making investments.
Core Plus: This is a moderate risk/moderate return strategy. The fund will generally invest in core properties, however some of these properties will require some form of enhancement or value-added element. Value Added: This is a medium-to-high risk/medium-to-high return strategy. It will involve buying a property, improving it in some way, and selling it at an opportune time for a gain. Properties are considered value added when they exhibit management or operational problems, require physical improvement, and/or suffer from capital constraints.
Opportunistic: This is a high risk/high return strategy. The properties will require a high degree of enhancement. This strategy may also involve investments in development, raw land, and niche property sectors. Investments are tactical. Features Considerations for investing in private equity real estate funds relative to other forms of investment
Include: Substantial entry costs, with most funds requiring significant initial investment (usually upwards of $1,000,000) plus further investment for the first few years of the fund. Investments in limited partnership interests (which is the dominant legal form of private equity real estate funds) are referred to as “illiquid” investment’s, which should earn a premium over traditional securities, such as stocks and bonds. Once invested, it is very difficult to gain access to your money, as it is locked-up in long-term investments, which can last for as long as twelve years. Distributions are made only as investments are converted to cash; limited partners typically have no right to demand that sales be made. If a private equity real estate firm can’t find suitable investment opportunities, it will not draw on an investor’s commitment. Given the risks associated with private equity real estate investments, an investor can lose all of its investment if the fund performs badly.
For the above-mentioned reasons, private equity fund investment is for those who can afford to have their capital locked in for long periods of time and who are able to risk losing significant amounts of money. This is balanced by the potential benefits of annual returns, which are often above 20% for successful opportunistic funds. Investors in private equity real estate funds tend, therefore, to be institutional investors or high net worth individuals.
Size of Industry
The popularity of private equity real estate funds has grown since 2000 as an increasing number of investors commit more capital to the asset class. In 2000 private equity real estate funds raised $12 billion in equity commitments from investors. By 2005 this had increased to $58 billion and in 2007 private equity real estate funds raised a total of $79 billion. Private Equity Real Estate is a global asset class and in 2007, 46% of capital raised was focused on the US, 26% was focused on Europe and 27% was targeting Asia and the rest of the world. As a beginner piano player with desires to be a pianist, you need a variety of piano books. It is essential. Practicing scales is not good enough to learn piano. If you spend all your time on scales you will never get to the good stuff and will get very tired of the same old thing. You will give it up and loose interest.
To keep interested in piano try playing songs that you enjoy. It will be more fun and allot more interesting. It is important to keep your attention and it will show in your music.
There are many good piano books available for piano learning, no matter what kind of music you are into. From classical, to jazz, to rock, to pop, and everywhere in between, there are books on piano available for every genre to keep your interest.
Personally, I like to mix it up quite a bit. I buy piano books for all of the great classical pieces, and then learn to play the music, but sometimes I want a change. It is good to be able to play the songs that your friends want to hear. I mean, why be an entertainer if you can not entertain? So, I make sure to buy piano books covering all of the most popular songs so that I can take requests whenever I happen to be entertaining.
Remember to get books of music that you don’t like because others will. You can never tell what the crowds will request and you want to be ready. You could start to like playing Mandy.
When you have studied enough books about piano and looked at enough songs you will begin to get that you don’t even need sheet music to play. You develop an eye to go with your ear. You will hear something on the radio and be able to plunk it out before you know it. The ah-ah moment will eventually come for your as it did for me.
After a while music will just play in your head. You will hear a song just once and you will see the notes in your mind. If you want to duplicate what you see in your head then you will need the sheet music. You will be able to visualize how it was arranged by then. But you will probably want to create your own sound. When this happens you will not need your books anymore.
It will take dedication and practice. It will be worth your effort. Playing your own beautiful music will be your reward.

There are endless ways to make up your landscape innovatively. One such is casting of bridges over pools r in a given space in your back yard. It adds a special touch to your landscape and makes it appear even more attractive. You can have a bridge in a variety of styles and the best thing is it won’t take much of your time!!!
Add a Pond and a Bridge to Your Landscape
A pond looks just splendid in your backyard and an excellent eye catcher. Building a pond would require to have a footbridge to go across and this will be an ideal set up for you to relax and enjoy some good parties!!
Decide- Professional or Amateur
Well, this option totally depends on you. You can either hire someone to get you a bridge done, mind you, it may cost you, or you can make one all by yourself and be proud of your hard work. Either way you would be benefited. If it is made by you, it would be more personalized and you would get more appreciation.
Creating a Footbridge for Your Landscape
A footbridge will lead you to your garden or serve as a walkover for your pond or may take you to your deck. To build one, you require some necessary materials which include wood, nails and equipments for the same like hammer etc. And yes, you require your own creativity and imagination to have an impressive bridge done!! Always check in the size and the length and the proper place where you want your bridge to be. Once you start building, you won’t be able to change direction. And if you do change it, it might destroy certain areas of your landscape.
Starting On Your Pond
A pond would go 15 to 20 inches in depth but you need to dig a few more inches deep. Firstly, you need to mark out the area with paint for your pond and then go about digging it.
Get Rid of the Debris
Evacuate a clear spot for your pond. Remove all the unrequited things and also the roots and any sharp objects you come across that may put a hole in the liner for your pond. Make it a point to see that your pond is even at the base or the water may not settle properly.
Sand for the Bottom of Your Pond
You have to coat the hole of your pond with sand when you are ready with the liner. This is to keep your liner intact. You may also cut off some excess liner for easier managing but long enough to cover it all. Another tip- warm up your liner in the sun for it to stretch better.
Finally!!! Setting Your Footbridge

Losing weight is a tough predicament for most, who just can’t seem to lose the weight despite trying everything. If near all possibilities have been explored in losing weight and it just doesn’t seem to be working, there is a new round of treatments that has shown success in reducing weight through a safe and tested method.
One odd attribution to the weight we gain and can’t lose is the fact that eating any type of unhealthy food in the past few years could still have an impact today. This is because food can buildup in the intestinal tract from not being digested properly, which can add up to 5 or more pounds over a long period of time. In this case, what is called a “colon cleanse” is necessary.
Another reason some attribute inability to lose weight is the lack of motivation. If one feels too tired, they aren’t going to be able to exercise and stick to diets as they had planned. Part of this is attributed to the fact that the blood may become somewhat intoxicated of the waste that couldn’t be properly passed through the intestinal tract. Kidneys and livers help take toxins out of the bloodstream, but this can also put extra strain on such organs that is unnecessary.
Weight loss has long been associated with laxatives, which seek to pass food along the digestive tract before too much of the fats are absorbed. Laxatives are an unsafe method, since they can create a physical and mental dependency. Other colon cleansers are able to clear the digestion system up without this dependency, depending on what method is undergone.
Fiber is a type of natural colon cleanser that is obtained over the counter or consumed in most foods. It’s important to keep fiber in one’s diet, as experts agree, since it acts much like home colon cleansing kits do. Most colon cleansers can be replaced with a good diet of fiber, but a doctor should be consulted before going anywhere with any solution as there can be adverse side effects.
A detox process is always a dangerous process if not enacted properly. Remember that weight loss is never an over night process, and that it will likely take several months to see moderate benefit. Also keep in mind that making use of colon cleansers or laxatives too often can cause vitamin deficiency, which can cause major health problems. The simple solution is to ask a dotor of his or her opinion on the matter.
In Conclusion
Next time you try to go lose weight via exercise and don’t feel in the mood, try checking into a colon cleanser of some sort. It may be just the trick that brings you to a slimmer size and lighter weight.

Upon the discovery of the Niagara Falls, there has been a close relationship between the surrounding area and the effects of humans. With this close interaction and awe in what nature has created, many interesting facts have emerged that will nicely supplement a visit to the area.
Tourists are well known for flocking to the Niagara Falls for a few opportunities of photos, but something they don’t get much of a glimpse of is the effect the waters have on the local energy supply. The Niagara Falls powers turbines that, in turn, power the surrounding community with electricity. These power stations are considered to be a “clean” source of power- meaning there is no harm to the environment from this energy.
Just like any other natural phenomenon, the Niagara Falls has attracted a lot of attention from the thrill seekers of the world. Old attempts at gaining thrill would include going over the falls in something as primitive as a barrel. Others have even reportedly survived a direct fall from the falls, although severe injuries were concluded upon rescue. More safe stunts have been recorded, but it should be noted all are illegal.
The Niagara Falls are situated between the Canada and United States sides, in which the waterfalls can be seen from both sides. Oddly enough, both sides have seen a large rise in commercialism. All types of hotels and restaurants are now decorating the skylines, which has actually had an impact on how the wind and mist from the Niagara Falls moves around the area. This is just one example of how human interference has changed the surrounding area.
In winter, the Niagara Falls is a sure sight to see. Much of the river will be frozen over, although usually not completely. It was customary for citizens to go out on the river during winter, in which small carnivals of commercial business and tourists made their way each year. This practice has stopped since three lives were lost in an unfortunate breaking of the ice, and going out on the waters is strictly prohibited as of today.
The future of the Niagara Falls is certain- they aren’t going anywhere. Even natural forces such as erosion are being controlled through preservation efforts. False rock beds and supports have been installed to ensure erosion won’t degrade the Niagara Falls as we know them today. Underwater tunnels also divert any powerful currents away so that the riverbeds stay healthy enough to continue a healthy existence.
Closing Comments
When traveling, one of the “sure hits” is the Niagara Falls. This is especially true since the area can be browsed absolutely free and without charge, making for an impressive and cheap photograph opportunity. And if money permits, obtaining a suite in the high rise hotels is also quite possible.

The motorbike industry is hard to get into when one doesn’t know which company to buy from. Many motorbike companies are simply resellers or second rate manufacturers- so it’s good to go with a well known company as compared to the “smaller guys.” Honda is a great example of the type of company consumers should invest in for motorbike needs.
Speed and functionality attract most new riders who want to become more adept in riding Honda motorbikes. For such riders, the Honda sports bike is recommended. Sports bikes are a “middle of the road” option that allows for speed and the durability to do tricks. Taking them out on an off-road area might not be possible, but they cater to the adrenaline junkies in society quite nicely.
If a more mellow ride is desired, going for the “cruise” or “standard” motorbike is a better selection. These types of Honda motorbikes closely resemble the Harley line of bikes, which are known for high torque and an easy ride. They are even less durable in some terrains than sport bikes are, so it’s best to keep these models on the road. The Shadow, Rebel, and VTX series are all great choices.
A Honda off-road motorbike is another option that should be considered- especially for nature lovers who like to be outdoors as opposed to the streets. Off-road Honda motorbikes are built to last, since they will be crawling over jagged and questionable terrain. Just keep in mind they won’t be the best in performance while racing a sports bike, but they’ll be able to go where a sports bike never could.
It is a human trait to be competitive. We see this in sports of all types- and Motocross is no different. Motocross requires a special type of Honda bike that can climb all types of terrain, yet still provide for high acceleration and top speeds. This mixture of requirements is tricky to balance, but Honda Motocross bikes have bridged the gap with ease.
And of course we shouldn’t forget the touring line of Honda bikes, that allow for travel instead of adrenaline or off road adventures. Touring motorbikes have much more storage space, allow for multiple passengers, and can carry more weight than the average Honda motorbike. They may be more expensive, but they are perfect for travelers of all types.
In Conclusion
Few other manufacturers can stand up to the Honda line of motorbikes. Honda has become the industry leader in competitions such as Motocross, and appeals to riders of all types: from the casual rider to the adrenaline seeker. For more information. contact Honda or a wholesaler for details on pricing information.
